Public hospitals account for less than 15% of doctors. How scarce are India’s domestic medical resources?
Public hospitals account for less than 15% of doctors, but in fact there is not a shortage of medical resources in India. India is recognized by the world as the "World Pharmacy" because many generic drugs are produced here. Yes, generic drugs are not only effective, but also very cheap. From this, we can see that India’s medical resources are actually very good, but the proportion of doctors in public hospitals is relatively small, because medical treatment in India is a matter for the rich and not for the poor. Basically, they get so turned on talking about public affairs that they even dare not go to public hospitals at all.
In fact, the medical system in public hospitals in India is quite good, because in public hospitals, you don’t need to spend anything except medicine, such as registration fees, examination fees, nutrition fees, etc. Yes, it sounds like everyone thinks this is good. The government takes good care of the Indian people, but this is not the case. The original intention of free medical care can be said to be good, but it has not been implemented well in India. This is reflected in the fact that India is a country with a large population, but India's economic strength is relatively poor. In the long run, this will become a burden to India.
A large number of patients gather in public hospitals, and everything is free except medicine. This will be a huge expense, so even if there is a good medical system, people's lives are still not very good. I remember I once read a report about a couple who sent their child with high fever to a public hospital. Originally, high fever was not a serious illness, but within 10 days, the child died. The reason was that the public hospital was in debt. The oxygen supply has been stopped. Who dares to go to a public hospital like this? Doctors don’t want to work in this environment, so the proportion of doctors in public hospitals is very small.
But there are many private hospitals in India. As long as you have money, you can enjoy the best medical services here. Their medical resources are not even inferior to those in some European and American countries, but the poor here go there. It’s unaffordable, so India’s domestic medical resources are not in short supply, but public hospitals are in relatively short supply.
