What are the college subjects?
There are 12 disciplines in the university's professional catalogue, including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management and art (tentative). The professional catalogue consists of four parts: professional code, professional name, degree-granting category and management authority. The professional code consists of six-digit codes, with the first two representing the discipline category and the first four representing the professional category.
Extended data:
The basic framework of the professional catalogue is set to three levels: discipline, specialty and specialty. The setting of discipline categories is consistent with the "discipline categories" in the Catalogue of Discipline for Degree Granting and Personnel Training. In principle, the setting of specialized courses is consistent with the first-level subjects in the subject catalogue. In principle, majors should be set up on the basis of two disciplines, and a few special cases can be set up on the basis of tertiary disciplines, taking into account the professional settings of emerging disciplines and interdisciplinary disciplines.
Engineering students learn more, mainly mathematics, such as linear algebra, probability theory, complex variable function, integral transformation, and some limited courses, such as mathematical modeling and numerical calculation. There are relatively few people studying liberal arts.
Provisions on relevant requirements for undergraduate majors in colleges and universities;
1. The relationship between disciplines and majors, the width and narrowness of majors, the relationship between postgraduate education and undergraduate education, the relationship between adaptability and foresight of majors, the relationship between basing on national conditions and drawing lessons from international experience, and the relationship between standardization and openness of professional catalogues should be considered in the revision.
2. To meet the needs of China's economic and social development and the reform and development of higher education, research and development will be more conducive to improving the quality of personnel training, optimizing the structure of disciplines and specialties, and promoting the rational positioning, characteristics and level of colleges and universities.
3. The revision of the professional catalogue should reflect continuity, and keep the existing majors that conform to the law, are mature and have great social needs. At the same time, it should be adjusted according to the requirements of national development, scientific and technological progress, market demand and international exchange and cooperation in education.
