Why is turkey a traditional food for Thanksgiving?

The origin of eating turkey-

One story goes that Queen Elizabeth of England was eating roast goose at a harvest festival in the 16th century. At this time, it was reported that the Spanish Armada sank on the way to attack her beloved England. The Queen was so happy that she asked for a goose to celebrate the good news. Therefore, geese have become the favorite birds in the British harvest season. When Puritans came to the United States from England, roast turkey became the main dish instead of roast goose, because turkeys were more abundant in North America and easier to find than geese.
