* * * has a huge tumor! Just relax。 It could be a benign phyllodes tumor.

In recent years, women pay more and more attention to the health of * * *, and many women will check or pay attention to * * * in their daily lives. However, there is a rare "phyllodes tumor". Because of its fast growth and easy growth, patients are often at a loss and don't know how to deal with it.

In fact, "phyllodes tumor" is rare, accounting for only 1% of the primary tumor. The common benign tumor fibroadenoma is between 15-35 years old, while the phyllodes tumor is after 15-20 years old, which is common in middle-aged women aged 40-50 years old. Both phyllodes tumor and fibroadenoma belong to fibroepithelial tumor, so they are often mistaken for fibroadenoma.

Lobular tumors may exist in patients for several years, but they are not taken seriously by patients. Most of them present painless masses, which grow rapidly after a certain period of proliferation, even reaching more than 20 cm. Because the superficial vein of * * * is large, it is prone to varicose veins, which looks like a malignant tumor of breast cancer.

However, Huang Taiqian, a surgeon at the General Hospital of China, pointed out that it can be distinguished from phyllodes or breast cancer in two aspects: phyllodes may have a longer course of disease, while breast cancer has a shorter course of disease. In addition, most phyllodes tumors are large in size, with uneven surface, varicose veins on the surface and rare secretion; However, breast cancer is small in size and hard in texture, and the skin may have orange peel-like changes or even invagination.

The treatment of phyllodes tumor with high recurrence rate is mainly surgical resection. In addition to removing the tumor, the normal tissue at a distance of 1-2 cm from the tumor will also be removed. If the tumor is too large or malignant, the whole tumor may be removed. If it is malignant, axillary lymph node metastasis is rare, so routine axillary lymph node resection is not needed during operation.

However, even after surgery, the recurrence rate of phyllodes tumor is very high, about 20 ~ 30%, and it is easy to occur within 2 years. As far as "benign phyllodes tumor" is concerned, 10 ~ 20% of recurrent tumors may become malignant. But the overall prognosis is good, and the 5-year survival rate can reach over 90%. Even for malignant phyllodes tumors, the 5-year survival rate is still as high as 65%.

Huang Taiqian reminded women that when they touch a lump, whether it is soft or hard, they should seek medical treatment immediately, and never "wait until it changes" in order to get treatment earlier. After consultation, biopsy should be done if necessary to confirm the diagnosis. It can also be discussed with doctors in the treatment to get better results.
