"Spring Sonata" was composed in 1810, work number OP.24. F major, music **** has four movements:
The first movement, sonata style, Allegro. The lyrical, flowing first theme is gentle, soft, and vibrant, accompanied by piano breakdown chords. The contrasting second theme, played powerfully in C major, has a youthful, renewed vigor. The unfolding section is mainly written in transposition, and in the drastic change to other keys, the piece gives off a springtime atmosphere, as if to tell people that "a year's plan lies in the spring", and that spring is like a period of youth for people, and that by cherishing and grasping this moment, life becomes more meaningful, which is also the connotation expressed in the piece.
The second movement is an expressive soft plate. The piano and violin intertwine to create an evocative movement that is extremely tender, as if confiding and lamenting, and as if it were a young girl's dream, full of strong springtime, making one dreamy and slightly intoxicated.
The third movement is a light-hearted witty piece, written in a compound three-part form. A lively, jumping theme is first played by the piano, repeated by the violin, and then by both instruments at the same time. The brisk, staccato rhythms are energetic and exude a childlike innocence.
The fourth movement, a rondo, has an upbeat, optimistic, easy-going theme that appears four times in F major***, which determines the basic mood of the movement, and is interspersed with two secondary themes as contrasts. The two instruments, one after the other, echoing each other before and after, make the piece radiate a charming springtime light, which is refreshing and relaxing.
