Immigrants and China Traditional Culture
Considering that the children of overseas Chinese have grown up and lived abroad, they have little contact with China's traditional culture and education, and their knowledge structure and system are also very different, so the topic of the joint entrance examination is very simple. As long as the test paper with a perfect score of 750 reaches 400, it can reach the admission standard of a university. However, for many domestic students, the test paper with 750 points is not only several times more difficult, even if it reaches 500 points, it is still possible to lose points.
Because of this, some people think of some crooked ways to let their children have a foreign nationality and a green card. In fact, they have never been to a foreign country at all, and they have become international students, taking the joint entrance examination with real overseas Chinese children. It is conceivable that fake immigrants can easily get good grades and get into famous schools with extremely low scores, which is very unusual for real overseas Chinese children.
So more and more fake immigrants can't be contained. Blame the intermediary or the university? I think this is a very complicated issue, and both the intermediary and the university should bear certain responsibilities.
Take the intermediary as an example. They spy on the vast market of fake immigrants, so they help those who want to go to famous schools but are not strong enough to buy foreign nationality. If your family is rich, why not spend hundreds of thousands to send your children to a prestigious school? Many parents think that this is cost-effective and worthwhile, and the behavior of these intermediaries is actually money-driven, and they don't care whether their actions infringe on the interests of others.
For major universities, the number of international students actually represents the grade and level of this school. As long as international students can enter their schools, their task of spreading China culture will be completed. For those so-called international students who are admitted to their school, they are not in the mood to spend so much energy on assessment. Moreover, as international students, their tuition is ten times more expensive, which is also a very expensive income for major universities. Who cuts their own bread? If colleges and universities don't release water, strengthen assessment, and kick those fake immigrant candidates out of school, they are even more worried that they will lose a lot of economic income if they can't recruit real international students.
So I think more and more fake immigrants, intermediaries and universities have certain responsibilities, and they are all for their own interests. If one of them can keep his bottom line, it can crack down on fake immigrants and give real overseas Chinese children a fair chance to compete. This also requires our relevant regulatory authorities to constantly regulate the intermediary market. As places where literary talents gather, major universities should uphold the professional ethics of teaching and educating people, rather than being mercenary, and give us a clear educational environment.
