The origin of the Olympic Games Be simple! But 50 words

The Olympic Games originated in Ancient Greece more than 2,000 years ago, and were named for the venue in Olympia. After the ancient Olympic Games were suspended for 1,500 years, the Frenchman Coubertin put forward the initiative of organizing the modern Olympic Games at the end of the 19th century.

The Olympic Committee was established in 1894, and the first Olympic Games were held in 1896, the first Winter Olympics in 1924, the first Paralympics in 1960, the first Youth Olympics in 2010, and the first Youth Winter Olympics in 2012.

In July 2017, the IOC decided that Paris, France, would host the 2024 Olympics and Los Angeles, the United States, would host the 2028 Olympics, and formally announced the two Games on Sept. 14 during the 131st plenary session of the IOC in the Peruvian capital, Lima.

When French educator Pierre de Coubertin, revered as the "Father of the Olympics," and 79 representatives from 12 countries decided to set up the IOC on June 23, 1894, to start the Olympic movement, the feat was once the object of irony. But today, a century later, the Games have become a universal festival and the Olympic movement has attracted the active participation of 202 countries and regions.
