Xikeng Ancient Village, Xinchang, Shaoxing, Zhejiang.

Located in the northwest of Jingling Town, a quiet and quaint mountain village was selected as the fifth batch of traditional villages in China.

Xikeng Ancient Village has a history of 1200 years, and was founded in the early Five Dynasties. In today's ancient villages, there are still many Ming and Qing buildings, especially the ancient Taimen group, which is well preserved and is a famous historical and cultural village in Zhejiang Province.

According to the genealogy of the Chen family in Guixi, the Chen family in Guixi originally lived in Qingzhou, Shandong Province, and moved to Cangnan (now Lishui City) at the end of Sui Dynasty due to the war. During the Five Dynasties World War, the ancestor Chen Yi (9 14-964) moved to the capital. Influenced by the mountains and rivers, they settled in Xiangkeng, South Xinchang, and their children became married. It can be inferred that Chen's ancestors settled in Xikeng in the middle and late Five Dynasties, which was more than 1000 years ago and only about 30 years away from Xinchang County.

Xikeng Village is backed by Yueshan Mountain, and Guixi passes through the village. Xikeng is named after Guixi, which flows through the village. According to "Xinchang Place Names", "the first name was Xikeng. In ancient times, the forest here was dense, and a mountain stream trickled out from the dense forest. After a long drought, it was named Xikeng. Yuanda Dejian (1279- 1307) is a osmanthus tree on both sides of Jiaxi, also known as Guixi. "

Xikeng Village has a long history, rich culture, numerous historical sites and well-preserved ancient dwellings, which attracted many film and television crews to shoot. Drum tower is a kind of folk culture and art, which has been included in the list of historical and cultural heritage protection.

There are many beautifully carved ancient buildings with a long history in the village. Xikeng ancient architectural complex includes four steps: upper 24, lower 24, upper eaves and thirteenth. There is only an alley between the terrace and the gate, which reflects the legacy of our ancestors' "separation and gathering only one family".

Chen's ancestral hall and stage in the ancient village are one of the few existing ancestral halls in the Qing Dynasty in Xinchang. Chenjia Ancestral Hall, also called Fengxian Hall, is a relatively complete building, which consists of front hall, patio, stage and main hall. The ground, including the patio, is paved with bluestone from the whole west pit, which is beautiful and generous. The existing Fengxian Hall is three rooms wide, with a basin-covered column base and an oval column top stone relief. The stage rests on the top of the mountain, with a single eaves, and the front ridge, vertical ridge and roof are engraved with the pattern of "vanilla dragon" and the three stars of Xikeng Qingshi Fushou. Among the existing ancient stage in Xinchang county, the roof component is stone carving, which is unique to the stage of Chenjiacitang.

In addition, the cultural relics and historic sites in Xikeng Village, such as the Baihe Temple built in the ugly year of Qing Dynasty (1829), the lower 24 gates, the thirteenth gates and the upper 24 gates built in Qing Dynasty, are also well preserved.

Xikeng bluestone mining has a long history, dating back to the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. Lin 'an, the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty, was built of Xikeng stone. After the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was mostly transported to other places for garden construction, which was known as "the first stone in the south of the Yangtze River" and sold at home and abroad for a long time.

Ming Chenghua's "Xinchang Zhicun Market" also has the following description: "Jingkeng is located in the eleventh capital, near the rock, producing beautiful stones, which can be used as a monument. Everyone else will pick it. " Xikeng bluestone has fine texture and strong wettability. Every time it gets wet by rain, it is colorful, which is a good material for stone carving artists. "Xikeng Stone Carving" is also famous.
