When was the World Health Organization Center for International Cooperation in Traditional Medicine established?
Chen Fengfuzhen, Director-General of the World Health Organization, said at the inauguration ceremony of the center that traditional medicine is being widely valued by governments all over the world. By 20 12, the number of countries and regions that recognize traditional medicine at the national policy level has increased to 69 among WHO member countries. In 2009, WHO adopted the Resolution on Traditional Medicine, and in the Traditional Medicine Strategy 20 14-2023, the strategic goal of developing traditional medicine and complementary medicine on a global scale was defined. The WHO Cooperation Center for Traditional Medicine will be located in Macao, which will become an important place for countries and regions to share and study traditional and complementary medical policies.
