What are the classifications of packaging?

There are many kinds of goods, different shapes and varieties, and their functions and appearance contents are also different. The so-called content determines the form, and packaging is no exception. Therefore, in order to distinguish between goods and design convenience, Zhonghui Design classifies packaging as follows:

1. According to product content:

Hardware appliances, textiles, children's toys, local products, etc.

2. According to the packaging materials:

Different goods use different materials considering their transportation process and display effect. Such as paper packaging, metal packaging, glass packaging, wood packaging, ceramic packaging, plastic packaging, cotton and linen packaging, cloth packaging and so on.

3. According to the nature of the product

Sales packaging

Sales packaging, also known as commercial packaging, can be divided into domestic packaging, export packaging, gift packaging, economic packaging and so on. Sales packaging is directly oriented to consumers. Therefore, when designing, we should have an accurate positioning (the positioning of packaging design will be introduced in detail later) to meet the demands of goods, and strive to be concise, convenient and practical, reflecting goods.

Storage and transportation packaging

Storage and transportation packaging means packaging for the purpose of storing or transporting goods. It is mainly circulated among manufacturers, distributors and stores to facilitate product processing and inventory. In design, it is not the key point, as long as the quantity, delivery and arrival date, time and place of the product are indicated. , it is possible.

4. The shape of the package

Inner packaging, middle packaging and outer packaging

Inner packaging is also called small packaging or individual packaging. Is the most intimate packaging with the product. It is the first protective layer for products to go to market. Each package is usually displayed on the shelves of shopping malls or supermarkets, and finally the products are bought to consumers together. Therefore, when we design, we should reflect the nature of goods to attract consumers.
