Alibaba Cloud, the computer is coming! Your next computer, why a computer?

Friends who have read our previous articles know that Huawei has released the first cloud mobile phone-Yunkunpeng mobile phone. Although it is called a mobile phone, this product is completely different from the traditional mobile phone on the market. CPU, memory, storage and other hardware are stored in Huawei's server, and we only need to connect a screen to the network to use it.

Would you be interested if I told you that there is a mobile phone that operates in a similar way to a cloud phone, and you can use something the size of a card instead of a computer?

This morning, at the 12 Yun Qi conference held by Alibaba, Zhang Jianfeng, president of Alibaba Cloud, officially released Ali's first cloud computer-No Shadow. Similar to Huawei's cloud phone, this computer has no local CPU, hard disk, graphics card, memory, display and other equipment, all in the cloud.

However, this cloud computer runs in a special way. Ali specially made a startup hardware called C-Key for users, which is only the size of a card. When users want to use the cloud computer, they just need to put their fingerprints on this card and connect it to the display screen and the network to use it at any time.

Does it look like nothing at first glance? Don't panic, I'll give you a brief description of its advantages.

Compared with personal PC, you need not only monitor and network, but also processor, memory, graphics card, hard disk, power supply, chassis and other equipment. To use this cloud computer, you only need two things: the Internet and a monitor.

In addition, the cloud computer also has a strong elastic extension property. For example, if your personal computer is installed, you choose a 500G hard disk. If there is a huge file project at work suddenly and temporarily, resulting in insufficient space, you can only delete the file or buy a hard disk to install it. Not to mention spending money, it is mainly a waste of time.

Of course, on Ali's shadowless cloud computer, you can not only increase the storage space at any time, but also expand the network and computing power at any time. If there is a temporary demand for ultra-high computing power, a single application resource can be flexibly expanded to as high as 104 core CPU and 1.5T memory.

Compared with the service life of traditional computers for three to five years, shadowless computers can be upgraded indefinitely without changing hardware equipment. In terms of system, it can also realize seamless switching of cross-platform, cross-terminal and Windows/Linux applications. Most importantly, its price is only about half that of a PC with the same performance.

Having said that, you may still not know how to achieve it. Zhang Jianfeng also released a video to present. Here, although it is for us to better understand the application scenario, the display device used in this video is still a bit too future. I always feel that all the high technologies in Iron Man have been taken out. ...

Simply put, after you activate C-Key through fingerprint recognition, the display devices connected to it (such as mobile phones, tablets, televisions, projectors and even VR glasses) can directly enter the operating system for games, animation rendering, graphic design, software development and so on.

It is worth noting that this usage scenario is not limited by place and time. As long as there is a display device and network, you can start using it at any time.

Zhang Jianfeng also said that all data files saved by users in the cloud don't need to worry about data loss, and they all enjoy the same level of security protection as Alibaba Cloud data center.

But unfortunately, this product is only sold to enterprises for the time being. I believe that after a certain degree of development, there will definitely be a personal version in the future.

What do you think of this computer?
