Huang Kan's story of learning forest.

Huang Kan's Personality Analysis

Qichun Huang Jigang was one of the pioneers of the Revolution of 1911. His life is marked by numerous trends of the times: new and old, radical and conservative, bohemian and modest. There are many such poles in Huang Kan's character, which seem to be mutually exclusive, but in fact they are contradictory and unified.

Before the Revolution of 1911, Huang Kan made revolutions in Hubei and Japan, and later taught in famous universities in China, where he was rigorous in his studies and became a master of Chinese studies. From Zhang Taiyan and Liu, Huang Kan trained famous scholars such as Jin Yufu, Yang Bojun, Lu Zongda, Yin Menglun, Cheng, Pan Chonggui and Xu Fu, which had a far-reaching influence in the academic history of the 20th century.

Crazy, aloof, crazy, famous, good at traveling, reading, cursing, unruly, informal, eccentric, maverick ... Huang Kan left a series of keywords and anecdotes to future generations.

Although Huang Kan is a degenerate, he is very filial to his mother. 1908, Huang Kan's biological mother, Mrs. Zhou Ru, was seriously ill and was called home by phone to take care of her illness. Huang Kan returned home in June, and her biological mother died. She was terrified and even vomited blood. At that time, the Qing government strictly ordered the arrest of revolutionaries. Because of the traitor's informer, the Governor of Liangjiang heard that Huang Kan was in his hometown, that is, a secret message from Governor Chen of Huguang, and he was quickly arrested. When Huang Kan learned the news, he immediately left home and moved to Japan. After Huang Kan returned to Japan, he still missed his mother, so he asked Su to draw a picture of "Dream of Mother's Grave" and wrote an inscription for himself. This painting has also become his private collection, never leaving. Can it be said that Huang Kan loves the traditional culture of China as much as his mother? This is his natural feeling about Chinese studies. It is precisely because of this emotion that he regards his writings as sacred, and his scholarship is very rigorous, because he knows that "China's learning is like casting copper on the mountain and boiling the sea into salt, which is endless".

"The teacher is not pedantic, but a lively and interesting person. He likes traveling, drinking, playing cards and writing poems, but one thing. No matter how he plays, he has to finish his homework every day ... "Disciple Cheng's remarks can be described as knowing people and being good at their duties. 1935101On October 5th, Huang Kan died after three days' rescue because of excessive drinking. On the day before his death, although he vomited blood, he still finished reading five volumes of Tang Bu and Tongjiang Ji. Reading, asking questions and studying national heritage not only meet the needs of the times, but more importantly, Huang Kan has a heartfelt motivation to support him through half a century's life.

Huang Kan studied under Zhang Taiyan.

1905, from Huang Kan to Japan, entered Waseda University. At Waseda University, he met Song, a classmate of Wuchang Zhonghua General School. In August of that year, the League was established in Tokyo, and Huang Kan was listed as a member.

1May, 906, Zhang Taiyan went to Tokyo, joined the League, and served as the editor-in-chief of People's Daily. At that time, more than 10,000 China students lived in Tokyo and competed for jobs under Zhang Taiyan. Huang Kan followed the crowd. As soon as I arrived at the door, I saw a big book with four words in the wall, which said, "If Zhong Ni grew up on East Road and Dayu came out from Xiqiang, who will be my spouse?" This is a quotation from Dai Liang in the Eastern Han Dynasty. After Huang Kan saw it, he felt that Zhang Taiyan was too arrogant and extremely difficult to approach. This time, when Huang Kan saw Zhang Taiyan, he didn't think of "I wish I knew Han Jingzhou". I think they are all indifferent people. Later, some people described the teachers and students as "a pair of lunatics".

Huang Kan often reads People's Daily and admires Zhang Taiyan's articles. Zhang Taiyan's rhetoric is profound and elegant, and his arguments are based on classics and history, which is very convincing. People's Daily is the organ of the Youth League and the mouthpiece of the revolutionaries. Newspapers are very popular with foreign students because of Zhang Taiyan's articles. Through the continuous reading of People's Daily, Huang Kan got a deeper understanding of Zhang Taiyan and gradually eliminated the misunderstanding. Since then, he has been writing for People's Daily. Maxima always meets Bole's appreciation. One day, Zhang Taiyan saw an article written by Huang Kan and praised it greatly. He immediately wrote to make an appointment, making him a genius in the world. Zhang Taiyan met Huang Kan, perhaps introduced by Song.

/kloc-in the autumn of 0/907, Zhang Taiyan heard that Huang Kan was going back to his hometown and said to him, "Learning is not as good as being a teacher. Looking back at China, there are very few people who can be teachers for you. Yang, a native monarch, is not proficient in land management, and it seems that he doesn't want to do so either. Mr. Sun Zhongrong of Ryan is still here. You can go and see him. " Huang Kan didn't agree immediately. Zhang Taiyan said, "If you don't come back soon, you will want to be a teacher, just like a servant." Huang Kan jumped to his feet and went today, kowtowing and calling himself a disciple. Immediately, Sue moved into Zhang Taiyan's residence in the town and followed him every day. While studying phonology and storytelling, he actively contributed to People's Daily. Zhang Taiyan also thinks that Huang Kan's intelligence and understanding are different. He sighed and said, "As the saying goes, learning from time to time is like taking the Wan Li Road. Now you are Wan Li one day! "

Professor Huang Kan from Peking University.

19 14 autumn, Huang Kan gave lectures in the Chinese Department of Peking University at the invitation of Cai Yuanpei, president of Peking University, such as Introduction to Literature, Ci Zhang Xue, China Literature History, etc.

19 14 In February, Zhang Taiyan was placed under house arrest for opposing Yuan Shikai's claim to be emperor. First imprisoned in Beijing Bensi Hutong, then moved to Longquan Temple, and sent patrolmen to guard the gate. Later, he was placed under house arrest in a house in Liangqian Hutong, Dongcheng (one of the four haunted houses in Beijing). In Liang Qian Hutong's residence, Zhang Taiyan can read and write, and relatives, friends and disciples can also visit him, but he is not free to go out. At this time, Huang Kan is accepting the appointment of Peking University as a professor in Beijing. He has inquired about the whereabouts of Zhang's family and went to visit. Seeing that Zhang was lonely, he offered to stay with the teacher and asked him to talk about the history of literature. At this time, most people avoided it, but Huang took the initiative to come as a companion for advice. A friend in need is a friend indeed, and Zhang was deeply moved. For several months, Huang went out early and returned late, went out to teach during the day, and talked about learning by candlelight at night until late at night. But one night, the police forcibly expelled Huang Kan, and other guests were not allowed to visit. Seeing that Huang was forcibly taken away, Zhang was deprived of the freedom to meet guests and went on a hunger strike in anger. After Ma Xulun's clever persuasion, he gave up the hunger strike.

Let's take a look at Huang Kan's manner and voice during his lecture at Peking University. Huang Kan's lectures on Selected Works and Wen Xin Diao Long are very vivid, attracting a large number of students from other departments. Feng Youlan said: "When he was in class, he listened to the most people. He talks about Selected Works and Wen Xin Diao Long in class, which I have never even heard of. " Huang is good at chanting poems, cadence and cadence, giving people an immersive aesthetic feeling. As a result, the students couldn't help singing in chorus, which became a popular tune on the campus of Peking University and was dubbed "Huang Tiao" by teachers and students. In the dormitory at that time, at night, the voice of "Huang Tiao" could be seen everywhere. Not only that, Feng Youlan, a student of Peking University, went home on holiday, chose some poems according to Huang Kan's way, explained them to his sister Feng (later Mrs. Lu Kanru), taught her "Huang Tiao" and led her to the road of literature.

Huang Kan and Assistant Minister Huang Men.

Huang Kan was full of peaches and plums all his life, and his disciples were called "Huang Menfu". Among many disciples, three have a special relationship. One is Huang Juying, a student who teaches at Wuchang Normal College. 1923, Huang Juying graduated from Wuchang Normal University. In the same year, Huang Kan and Huang Ju Ying got married in Huangtupo, Wuchang. Huang Kan married his own students. Like Lu Xun, Xu Guangping and Shen Congwen, Zhang Zhaohe caused a sensation in the academic and literary circles of the Republic of China. One is Huang Zhuo, Huang Kan's nephew. As the academic successor of Huang Kan, Huang Zhuo has accumulated a wealth of Huang Kan's academic theory and collating materials of ancient books, which have been compiled and published one after another. Following the example of his uncle Huang Kan, Huang Zhuo "never wrote a book before the age of 50", so after the age of 70, all his works were collected and published in the world. The other is Pan Chonggui, who became Huang Kan's son-in-law.

During his stay at Central University, Huang Kan and Liu Taixi talked about Pan Chongkui who was admitted to Central University in recent years. Huang Kan said excitedly, among many papers, only Sheng Pan, whose writing style is exquisite and meticulous, often went to Huang Kan's residence for advice recently. Huang Kan said that this life is pure gold and beautiful jade among modern youth, and the admiration is beyond words. Coincidentally, Liu Taixi told Huang Kan excitedly that Pan Sheng was his nephew. Huang Kan also thought it was a strange fate, and hurriedly asked Pan Sheng if she was engaged. Knowing that she was not engaged, Huang Kan said that her daughter was waiting in the boudoir, which was a perfect match for Pan Sheng. Later, Pan Chongkui really married Huang Kan's daughter.

1929165438+1On October 27th, Huang Kan led a student Pan Chongkui to Shanghai to celebrate Mr. Zhang Taiyan's birthday, and Huang Kan introduced his favorite pupil Pan Chongkui to Zhang Taiyan. Zhang Taiyan asked him what he had learned, which was very rewarding, so he changed his name and rules.

Huang Kan, a professor at Central University, never mentioned revolution to his students. His students seldom know that he and Huang Xing are comrades who fought bloody battles together. Some historians believe that Huang Kan's editorial "Chaos, a panacea to save China" written for Dajiang Daily was a prelude to Wuchang Uprising. After Huang Kan's death, Pan Chonggui realized why he didn't talk about revolution. Pan Chonggui wrote: "He believes that it is the duty of the state to risk his life to join the revolution. Therefore, he felt that all the sacrifices in the past were nothing to be proud of; Even after the success of the revolution, I can't get rid of the people's fire and water, and I still feel guilty. He didn't feel the glory of the revolution, only felt ashamed. This is probably the reason why he never talks about the revolutionary past all his life! "

Huang Kan's eclectic teaching left a deep impression on Assistant Minister Huang Men. He often takes the opportunity of eating and drinking on outings to talk about knowledge, broaden his horizons and give students great inspiration in small talk. His lectures are also unrestrained and disorganized, and he talks about wherever he goes, but his knowledge is very wide, which is beyond the understanding of ordinary people. Scholar Cheng agrees with this: "Teachers often don't have a certain teaching plan when giving lectures in their later years, and beginners are often confused. But I was a fourth-grade student at that time, and I felt that I had learned a lot from various discussions ... "

Huang Kan "is a person who appreciates the scenery." He likes to visit scenic spots with his disciples. When he was in high spirits, he expressed his feelings by singing poems, and people who could write poems won his favor. When he was in Beijing, he was often accompanied by Sun Shiyang and Ceng Zhi. Sun Shiyang said: "Mr. Wang likes to travel, but it is difficult for him to be a companion." He is only respectful and cautious and travels around the suburbs. He often talks late into the night at parties. Mr. Si Wenjun, wherever he goes, he will ask questions, occasionally give orders, do something, and be happy. " Disciples made friends with Huang Kan and benefited a lot. Because Lv Zongdanone can drink and smoke, he is deeply loved by Huang Kan. I often chat with him while eating, sometimes eating a meal for four or five hours. Lu learned a lot from it that he couldn't learn in class.
