design concept
The crown of the east, prosperous China, the granary of the world, enriching the world.
Subject concept
The architectural appearance of China Pavilion expresses the spirit and temperament of China culture with the concept of "the crown of the East". The National Pavilion stands in the center and stands out at different levels, becoming the main body of sculpture that embodies the elements of China and symbolizes the spirit of China-the crown of the East; The regional pavilion is spread horizontally, reflecting the national pavilion in the form of a stretched platform base, becoming an open, flexible, people-friendly and multi-level city square; They are opposite to each other, complement each other and form a unified whole to express the theme of a rich and powerful country. The national pavilion and the regional pavilion are divided up and down, and the modeling is coordinated from master to slave, forming a unique landmark building complex.
In addition to the "crown-fighting" shape of the National Pavilion, the design of the regional pavilion is also full of China charm, drawing on many traditional elements in ancient China. The regional museum uses "overlapping seal script" to convey the geographical information of China's human history. On the facade of the outermost corridor of the regional pavilion, 34 characters of the names of traditional dynasties in China will be printed in overlapping seal script fonts, symbolizing the long history and culture of China; On the surface of the facilities for tourists to stay and rest in the circular corridor, the names of provinces, cities and districts with 34 words will be engraved, symbolizing China's vast territory, rich resources and unity and enterprising.
technical characteristics
The design of China Pavilion has introduced the most advanced scientific and technological achievements, making it conform to the concept of environmental protection and energy saving. The hall under the four pillars is a space that can go from east to west and from north to Nantong. In Shanghai, which has four distinct seasons, no matter what the weather is like during the exhibition, the audience can feel the airflow suitable for the human body touching their skin. Exterior wall materials are non-radioactive and pollution-free green products. For example, all doors and windows are made of LOM-E glass, which can not only reflect heat and reduce energy consumption, but also spray coatings to convert sunlight into electricity and store it, providing energy for building exterior wall lighting. The covering layer with a thickness of 1.5m on the platform of the regional pavilion can save more than 10% energy consumption for the pavilion. The observation deck at the top of the National Pavilion may also introduce the most advanced solar film to store sunlight and convert it into electricity. There is also a rainwater collection system on the top floor, and rainwater purification is used to flush toilets and vehicles. The story of the main building forms a self-shading shape, which saves energy for the lower space. All pipes and even subway vents are cleverly hidden in the building.
symbolic meaning
China Pavilion creatively interprets traditional elements in a three-dimensional way. Its architectural language is concise and straightforward, and the complexity of traditional building components is greatly reduced. The straight line constitutes balance and stability, and the sense of space between the four pillars increases the sense of transparency. The huge space formed by 33 meters increases the transparency, publicity and openness of the building, and the connection with the square enhances its popularity. The inverted pyramids, which are stacked on top of each other, have a sense of flapping their wings and flying against the wind, which makes this building have a strong symbolic and extraordinary appearance and gives people an imagination that transcends time and space. Its facade is also rich and multi-layered, leaving enough space for the change of light and shadow and the dialogue with nature.
In appearance, it is covered with a bright red color, which gives people a strong visual impact. It is very eye-catching in the huge park, and there is a strong and ethereal sense of sculpture from a distance. The outer wall refers to the color of the outer wall of the Forbidden City. The facing of superstructure can be light metal or light ceramic. The column is made of reinforced concrete.
