Doctor's code of conduct

1. actively treat patients: doctors must try their best to serve patients with their own medical knowledge and treatment methods, which is determined by the characteristics of the medical profession. As long as you choose the medical profession, you have to undertake the obligation of treating patients, which cannot be shirked for any reason. No political, social or other non-medical reasons should restrict or interrupt doctors' treatment of patients.

2. Relieve the patient's pain: The patient's pain includes both physical and mental aspects. Physical pain can generally be controlled by medical means such as drugs, but psychological and spiritual pain requires doctors to understand patients with compassion and psychological counseling can be effective.

3. Explain the illness to patients and their families: Doctors are obliged to explain the illness, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and other related medical conditions to patients. This explanation is not only to win the cooperation of patients in receiving medical treatment, but more importantly, to respect patients' autonomy and right to know.

4. Keep patients' privacy: confidentiality is the traditional morality of medical staff. The International Code of Medical Ethics stipulates that:

"Out of the trust of patients, a doctor must absolutely keep the privacy of patients he knows."

China's Ministry of Health 1985 issued the "Medical Ethics Standards and Implementation Measures" also stipulates:

"Keep medical secrets for patients, and don't reveal patients' privacy and secrets. "

This requires strict medical confidentiality and safeguarding the legitimate rights of patients in the process of examination, diagnosis and treatment.

The duty of a doctor is to be a social saint. It is sacred because they are performing the duty of saving lives, that is, carrying forward all the humanitarian spirit of serving the people, unconditionally safeguarding the interests of patients in all clinical treatment work, doing their best to treat patients' diseases and improve their health. At the same time, every doctor must also assume the responsibility to others and society, improve public health and promote social development.
