How to set the advance and retreat tool at the specified point during open excavation

1. Determine cutting parameters, including tool diameter, cutting depth, feed speed, etc.

2. Set the designated points in the machining program, namely the cut-in point (feed point) and the cut-out point (retract point).

3. At the feed point, the position of the cutter should be above the workpiece, waiting for the feed operation.

4. During the feeding operation, the cutter will enter downwards along the surface of the workpiece until the cutting depth is reached.

5. After reaching the designated point, the cutter should remain motionless and wait for the next operation.

6. Retract the cutter, and the cutter moves upward along the surface of the workpiece until it is separated from the workpiece.

7. After reaching the designated point, the cutter should remain motionless and wait for the next operation.

8. Repeat the above steps until a complete groove is processed.
