What's the difference between white sugar and ordinary sugar?

Ordinary sugar is made from sugarcane or beet. In contrast, it is sugarcane juice, which is also made of sugarcane. The difference between cane sugar and cane juice sugar lies in the different processing methods. Sugarcane juice is a more nutritious sweetener than sugar, because it has not been highly processed and retains more nutrients in sugarcane.

White sugar is sucrose made from sugarcane. Sugarcane juice is extracted by crushing sugarcane to release juice, and then filtering with hydrated lime to remove dirt and debris during harvest. Next, concentrate it into syrup by boiling. In order to produce sugar, sugarcane syrup is boiled until crystals form. The mixture of crystals and syrup is separated by rotation in a centrifuge. Then dry the coarse sugar crystals with hot air. Raw sugar is transported to the country where it will be used, where it is further refined into white sugar. In the refinery, sugar is liquefied again and processed to remove the remaining color and anything that is not pure sugar. After processing, the sugar is centrifuged to remove the remaining liquid from the sugar crystals. Sugar crystals are ground into fine, regular and large crystals, depending on their end use. The crystals are removed and the liquid left after drying produces molasses.

Evaporated sugarcane juice is also harvested from sugarcane. It is not very refined, so it remains light brown and retains some nutrients in sugarcane juice. It is boiled to evaporate most of the water in the juice. Organic evaporated sugarcane juice is made from sugarcane planted according to the organic standards of USDA, and most traditional pesticides, synthetic fertilizers or sewage, bioengineering or ionizing radiation are not used in the production process.

Believe it or not, sugar is very nutritious. Sugar contains11calories per ounce, and one ounce of sugar is equal to 2 tablespoons. Sugar is 99.9% carbohydrate, of which 99.8% is sucrose, and there are trace amounts of calcium, iron, potassium, copper and manganese. It contains 0.00 1 mg riboflavin. The difference between white sugar and evaporated sugarcane juice lies in the nutrition label.

The evaporated sugarcane juice contains the same number of calories per ounce, but contains 0.2g protein, 0.7g insoluble fiber, 0. 16mg riboflavin, 0.2mg nicotinic acid, 32.57mg calcium, 0.6mg iron, 2.5mg magnesium and 162.8mg potassium.

Both are sugar, but evaporated sugarcane juice has higher nutritional value. So, not all sugar is the same.
