What are the origins and customs of Eid al-Adha?

1, Eid al-adha source:

Around 2000 BC, the prophet Ibrahim, who lived in Hebron, Palestine today, was an honest man. He kept his oath all his life. In order to believe in the uniqueness of God, he gave up the religious belief and prosperity of his ancient ancestors. He braved the fire to go into exile, exhausted his youth, and devoted himself to preaching the orthodox religion of God-ordering people to do good and preventing people from doing evil. When he was eighty-six, he was very eager to have a son. God met his request and gave him a son named "Sima Yi". To this end, he is very grateful to God for his kindness and loves his son Sima Yi very much. I hope he can make some contributions to God's orthodox religion and human society when he grows up.

After many hardships, Ibrahim accepted the test from God to prove whether his love for God exceeded his love for things around him. The test is to let him sacrifice his only son in his later years. Ibrahim firmly accepted the test of God. He said to his beloved son Sima Yi, "My child! I really dreamed that I sacrificed you; Do you think about how to treat it,' he said,' my father! If God wills, you will find me very patient. When they obeyed, he touched his forehead, so we called to him, "Abraham!" You really realized your dream. Thus do we reward those who do good? This is a clear test. We redeemed him with a great sacrifice, and made him famous in the Hereafter and rested on Abraham. 」

So Ibrahim took his son to Mina Mountain near Mecca. Just as he slaughtered his son with a knife, the angel Bo Zhe Le Yi was sent by God to send a black head to the sheep instead of a sacrifice. To commemorate this event, and thank God, Prophet Mahathir inherited this tradition and listed it as one of the rituals of the Hajj class. According to the Islamic Shariah, Muslims with affluent economic conditions hold sacrificial ceremonies every year. The Puritans held a massacre on June 10. Muslims in other countries and regions slaughtered their animals from 10 to 12 for three days. Slaughtering beyond the time limit is invalid. When Mu Sheng spread Islam in Mecca. Allah revealed, "I have blessed you, so worship your Lord and sacrifice." Mu Shengshun obeyed the Lord's command, imitated Ibrahim's sacrifice, and made sacrifices to the Lord. In the first year of the Islamic calendar (AD 633), that is, today's Eid al-Adha, 65438+ 10 every February was designated as a ceremony.

2. The custom of Eid al-Adha:

Muslims of all ethnic groups in China clean indoor and outdoor sanitation before the festival, and their courtyards, streets and alleys are clean, and things are stacked in an orderly manner. Every household should fry oil incense, prickly heat and flowers before the festival. The children put on holiday clothes and ran happily.

In the morning ceremony of the festival, adults should wash, bathe and burn incense, put on neat clothes and go to the mosque to attend the ceremony, and read aloud "words of response" as they walk (God is the greatest, God is the greatest, everything is not the Lord but God, God is the greatest, and all praise belongs to God). On this day, I will fast for half a day and eat after the ceremony (teaching is a matter of course).

There are two popular sayings among Muslims: "If you can't be a Muslim for a month, you have to be a Muslim for a year;" Chasing the main hemp in a hundred miles, chasing Germany in a thousand miles. "This means that no matter how busy you are, you must attend this annual ceremony and celebration. Even if you don't understand Muslim customs, you should go to the mosque to participate in activities.

The ceremony of Eid al-Adha is as grand as Eid al-Fitr. Everyone gathered together, and the imam led all Muslims to bow to the west. If it is held in a big town, it can be described as a sea of people, many without chaos. During the ceremony, everyone will recall what mistakes they made and what crimes they committed during the year. Imams will preach "Walzi", that is, teachings and things that need to be observed by everyone. Finally, everyone will say hello to each other.

After the ceremony, there will be a grand ceremony, that is, in the festival, in addition to frying oil, prickly heat and other delicacies, sheep, cattle and camels will also be slaughtered. Generally speaking, if the economic conditions are better, each person will slaughter a sheep and seven people will slaughter a cow or camel. There are many things to pay attention to when slaughtering animals: First, it is not allowed to slaughter lambs under two years old, calves under three years old and camels under six years old. Second, don't slaughter livestock that are blind, lame, deaf and have few tails. Choose healthy and beautiful animals to slaughter. Third, the family members came to the scene, which was "Mustafa". Fourth, when killing animals, they should be tied up slowly and gently pushed down, with the animals facing west. Fifth, read Tektronix three times. Then, you have to use a sharp knife. Self-slaughter is a sacred line. When slaughtering, three tubes should be broken: trachea, blood vessels (two) and esophagus. It is illegal to break one pipe less. Sixth, the slaughter time is valid within three days after the ceremony. Seventh, if you want to slaughter livestock, but you don't get livestock within three days, don't slaughter them later; If you buy it, it will be scattered; If you don't buy it, you will be exempted from responsibility by distributing the slaughter price to the poor. Eighth, the skins, bones, horns and other things of slaughtered animals shall not be used as remuneration for slaughter and stripping or as money for shopping. It is better to distribute it to the poor or spend money to help them. Nine, the slaughtered meat should be divided into three parts: one to eat, one to give to relatives and friends, and one to give to the poor.

After the slaughter ceremony, every household began to be lively again. When old people were in cook the meat, they told their children that after eating meat, the bones should not be thrown to dogs to chew, but should be covered with loess. This is an emphasis on Eid al-Adha. After the meat is cooked, it should be cut into pieces and made into pieces; The sheep in the water should be stewed into vegetables. Then visit relatives and friends, give rapeseed gifts, visit each other and celebrate the festival together. Most Muslims also invite imams to their homes to be enlightened and recite Buddhist scriptures, so as to remember their ancestors and pray for the safety of the whole family.

This kind of celebration has various forms, basically similar to Eid al-Fitr, and there are similarities and differences in different places. In some places, besides attending ceremonies and visiting relatives and friends, various recreational and sports activities are organized. Muslims in Xinjiang, both men and women, like to organize various entertainment activities on Eid al-Adha, which is very lively. In rural areas of Xinjiang, activities such as picking sheep and singing duet are generally held. When singing a duet, I feel moved by the scene and improvise, especially singing songs such as Flowers and Teenagers. Muslim youths in Gansu, Ningxia and Qinghai sing "flowers" in festivals. Shiyan Mosque holds a celebration forum every year to celebrate festivals, the reunification of the motherland, national unity and religious harmony, and invites representatives of other ethnic groups to participate. Everyone can speak freely and celebrate the festival happily. Muslim festivals of all ethnic groups are getting richer and more grand!
