How to treat lumbar spondylosis?

The treatment of lumbar spondylosis mainly includes drugs, surgery and physical therapy. However, there are many kinds of the disease, which need to be selected according to the specific types. Common treatment measures are as follows:

First, physical therapy

Patients with acute lumbar disc herniation absolutely need to stay in bed for 3-4 weeks. Patients with chronic lumbar spondylosis should avoid sitting for a long time and working at their desks for a long time. They can wear a waistline in their daily activities and do proper back muscle exercises, such as supine straight leg lifting, flat support and walking backwards. At the same time, massage, acupuncture, electrotherapy, cupping, laser, ultrasound and paraffin therapy can be used to achieve the purpose of diminishing inflammation and relieving pain, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis.

Second, medication.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, muscle relaxants and nerve-nourishing drugs can be used to relieve the pain of patients, including ibuprofen and mecobalamin, which can effectively improve the symptoms of lumbar spondylosis.

Third, surgical treatment.

It is suitable for those with definite diagnosis, indications for surgery, serious impact on daily life and rest, or ineffective non-surgical treatment. Commonly used surgical methods are:

1. Spinal endoscopic surgery: suitable for patients with partial lumbar disc herniation;

2. fenestration laminoplasty: suitable for patients with simple lumbar disc herniation;

3. Total laminectomy, bone graft fusion and internal fixation: it can be used for most lumbar diseases, but it has great damage to the spine and is not commonly used;

4. Lumbar intervertebral fusion through intervertebral foramen: It can solve most lumbar diseases and is commonly used.

Fourth, other treatments.

1, nerve root block: it can relieve nerve root pain in a short time;

2, radiotherapy and chemotherapy: if it is because of lumbar spondylosis caused by malignant tumors, we should choose this therapy as appropriate;

3. Psychotherapy: Provide psychological counseling to patients with chronic low back pain to improve their psychological state and relieve pain.
