It was built in the early Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, surrounded by seven lush peaks. The seven peaks arch like a ring, but there is a mountain pass in the east, which is the only place to enter the temple. All seven peaks have their own names. From east to north, the mountain gates are Guiyue Peak, Lingxiao Peak, Yufeng Peak, Diecui Peak, Guanlan Peak, Lotus Peak and Yiquan Peak. Longtan Temple is located in it. There are two pools of clear water in front of the temple, which are juxtaposed with things and never wither all year round, one pool of lotus and one pool of water chestnut. According to folklore, there are two dragons lurking among them, helping themselves to fetch water, hence the name Longtan. According to legend, 276 years ago, Yan Zhi, a master of Wutai Mountain in Shanxi, traveled all over the world and once traveled here. He saw the seven peaks of Longtan Mountain connected, with lush trees and deep grass. There is a river in front of the mountain surrounded by the seven peaks, rolling from north to west, like a cloud belt falling to the world. There is a pool at the foot of the mountain, and the water in the pool is crystal clear. There is a spring in the west of the pool. After drinking this spring water, Master Yan Zhi tasted its sweetness and freshness. The Mahayana Temple in the temple is dedicated to the Three Tathagata, with Sakyamuni Buddha in the middle, Amitabha Buddha in the east, Manjusri Bodhisattva in the west, Manjusri, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva and five hundred arhats in the west, and Guanyin Bodhisattva in the back. In the 19th year of Qing Qianlong, Emperor Qianlong visited Longtan Temple, which was extremely hot in midsummer. While drinking tea, he strolled to a big tree next to this spring and suddenly felt cool and relaxed. Look at this tree carefully, just like Yi Long's descent. The faucet falls to Longtan to absorb water, and the tail sticks up to the sky to block the inflammation of the scorching sun for the emperor. Emperor Da Yue blurted out and named this tree "Dragon Tree". After drinking the tea soaked in Longtan, Emperor Qianlong felt that the water was fragrant and intoxicating, and specially named this well "Longquan". In the third year of Guangxu, Emperor Guangxu traveled eastward to Longtan Mountain. It was a hot summer in June. He took a good sip of the tea made in Longquan and felt fragrant and refreshing. When he was happy, he wrote "Weijing Cang Lan" and named it "Holy Well". After the second emperor sealed Longquan Holy Well, it was guarded by Qinglong and Bailong day and night, and the water level of the well rose by three feet, which never dried up in the year of drought. Longtan Temple in Changning The legend of Longtan Temple was originally named Longwang Temple, also known as Longdong. According to legend, this Longtan is very strange. In ancient times, it was only a trickle, and it didn't drip in a dry year. In dry years, it is very difficult for residents living here to drink water, let alone draw water for irrigation. Because of lack of water, sometimes food is almost useless, and people can only live a hard life without food and clothing. One year, it was also a drought, and the seedlings were dying. People came here in droves to burn incense and fetch water. They lit incense, folded their hands and prayed sincerely. After a while, there seems to be running water. When the beggar opened his eyes and saw that there were really two clear springs rushing out, the kind people were saved. They cheered. Since then, there has never been a shortage of water here. Two springs spewed out from a one-meter hole in Fiona Fang, and they flowed endlessly. Over time, the Longtan today was formed. People thought there was a dragon to protect them, so they built Longtan Temple.
