What are the common binding methods for books?

Books that are saddle-stitched should not be too thick, and multiple books must be set into one complete book before they can be bound (see Figure 7-7A).

Wire stitching uses a wire stapler to pass the wire through the book block's stapling opening. This is called wire stitching. Wire stitching has high production efficiency. However, the iron wire is prone to yellow rust spots when it gets wet, which affects the appearance of books and periodicals and causes damage to album pages.

, scattered, suitable for ordering books and periodicals with less than 100 pages.

Thread-stitching involves connecting the prepared signatures one by one with threads in sequence, which is called thread-stitching.

Thread sewing machines are commonly used for thread sewing.

There are two ways to lock the thread: flat lock.

Thread binding can be used to bind books of any thickness. It is strong and easy to read, but the binding speed is slow.

Adhesive binding uses adhesive to bind signatures or album pages together to make a book block.

Usually, the signatures are matched with page numbers, grooves are sawed or milled on the spine and made into single sheets. After being aligned, the signatures are firmly bonded with adhesive.

The adhesive-bound book blocks can be used for paperback or hardcover.
