With examples, this paper discusses what the reception aesthetics has provided for reading teaching.

Reception aesthetics holds that literary activity is a dynamic process of three links: writer, work and reader. The value of a work is the result of the interaction between the writer's creative consciousness and the reader's acceptance consciousness. Therefore, reading is not a simple passive acceptance process of readers, but a process of active participation of readers. The reader's subjective dynamic function is not only manifested in a serious attitude and dedicated spirit, but also actively predicts, experiences and infers the text by using his own existing knowledge and experience. Reception aesthetics also holds that literary works are different from scientific works in that they use a descriptive language with "uncertainty of meaning" and "blank meaning". They constitute the "calling structure" of the works, calling on readers to exert their imagination, fill in gaps and re-create with "reading expectation". The theory of reception aesthetics especially emphasizes the active participation of readers and the active role of subjects, which provides us with a new perspective to understand the process of reading comprehension.
