How did "Dance of the Golden Snake" come into being?

"Dance of the Golden Snake" is a national orchestral piece compiled and adapted by Nie Er in 1934 based on the folk music "Inverted Eight Banners", and recorded into a record under the command of Nie Er himself.

"Lao Ba Ban" is a variant of "Lao Liu Ban".

It develops the tail changes of the latter as the beginning of the music, so it is commonly known as "Inverted Eight Banners".

The original song was often played at folk festivals. When adapting it, Nie Er maximized the jubilant mood of the original song and named it "Dance of the Golden Snake", which reflected his strong belief in New China and his revolutionary spirit.

The spirit of optimism.
