What is the layout of the Buddha statues in nanzenji Giant Buddha Hall?
There is an altar in the Great Buddha Hall, which is 8.4 meters long, 6.3 meters wide and 0.7 meters high. Right in the middle is Siddhartha Gautama, sitting on Mount Sumi, making a Zen flower seal by hand. There are eighteen statues of the Tang Dynasty on the lotus stands on both sides, which are plump, elegant, simple in dress and flat in folds. Modelling technique is very consistent with the Tang sculptures in Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, and it is the best of the Tang sculptures in China.
