What are the classifications of dance?

Dance is an art, which can cultivate people's temperament. There are many kinds of dances that we are familiar with.

It mainly includes China classical dance and folk dance, while foreign ballet, jazz dance, street dance, belly dance and ballroom dance (including Latin dance and modern dance) have their own characteristics and have different requirements for dancers. Many beginners blindly choose dance because they don't know dance knowledge, which leads to the result of giving up later. Therefore, it is very important to know the characteristics and requirements of dance before learning.

China classical dance: It mainly includes body rhyme, posture and skills, which combines the movements and forms of martial arts and traditional Chinese opera, and pays attention to the expression of eyes and body rhyme. Body rhyme is the connotation of China's classical dance, which emphasizes "the combination of form and spirit, the unity of body and mind, and the unity of inside and outside", and has stricter requirements for dancers.

National folk dance: refers to the dance form full of national culture that is produced and spread among the people. National dance is a symbol of a nation. Common ethnic dances include Tibetan dance, Dai dance, Korean dance, Uygur dance, Miao dance, zhuang dance dance and Mongolian dance. Because it is loved by the people and serves the public, it is easy to jump out of the characteristics without high requirements for dancers.

Ballet: European classical dance, characterized by tiptoe dancing and arm dancing. Ballet, like China classical dance, is a basic dance, but standing on tiptoe makes many people flinch. Compared with other dances, the difficulty coefficient of ballet is really high, and it is easy to get hurt if you are not careful. However, the physical correction and temperament cultivation of ballet are incomparable to other dances, so there are still many people flocking to it.

Adult jazz and street dance: jazz is actually a kind of street dance, so here we put the two together. These two kinds of dances are the most popular dances among young people at present, and they are also the dance courses often offered by dance training institutions. Hip-hop originated in the United States, and is usually classified into Breaking, Poppin, Locking, Hip-hop, Jazz and Raggae in China. Hip-hop contains a wealth of action combinations, with a high degree of difficulty, but jazz and Hiphop are exaggerated, which is very in line with the personality of young people.

Belly dance: It is a dance form with Arabic customs, which is characterized by the fast-paced swing of hips and abdomen and the swing of the body, making it look beautiful and colorful. The requirements for dancers are not high, but it really takes effort to learn belly dancing well.

The easiest way to learn by yourself is new jazz (Korean actress group, which basically dances this kind of dance) and belly dance. There are too many videos on various video websites. I often use Youku because it supports downloading and has high definition. I suggest you look for basic video science first. When you are almost finished, find some favorite dance videos and follow them. The basic skills of these two dances are similar. For example, the camel in belly dance and the wave in new jazz are the same action, but they are called differently. When learning video, you can use Youku's software to save the video, and then use kmplayer to play it (because this software supports mirroring+deceleration+repetition between AB points, it is easier to play the action with mirroring, otherwise the learning will be negative, and the coordination between the left and right halves is generally different, and some actions are more difficult). I suggest that when you study, count the movements in units of eight beats and learn the corresponding movements according to the beat. You should have a mirror when you study, and constantly improve yourself in the mirror and the performance in the video. There is a program that recommends you to watch so you think you can dance, which is the American version of so you think you can dance. There have been subtitles since the third season, and the program is very good.

Finding like-minded companions online will be helpful to your study. Everyone can exchange information, which will help you to have a wider understanding and appreciation of dance.
