Energy is the foundation of a country's development. China is a country with more coal and less oil. With the rapid development of social economy in China, China is highly dependent on foreign countries for oil and natural gas. Daqing Oilfield, located in the northeast of China, is the largest oilfield in China and a rare super-large continental sandstone oilfield in the world. The annual output of tertiary oil recovery in Daqing Oilfield has exceeded10 million tons for 20 consecutive years, and the accumulated crude oil production is 286 million tons. It is the largest tertiary oil recovery production base in the world.

Abandoned sandstone reservoir turns waste into treasure

Daqing Oilfield was the first oilfield discovered in Songliao Basin in China in September 1959, and three oilfields, Sarthou, Xingshugang and Lamadian, were successively developed. The discovery and development of Daqing Oilfield has provided an important support for China's social and economic development, and provided a steady stream of energy resources for China's economic development. However, with the continuous exploitation of oil and gas resources, the oil and gas resources in Daqing are gradually exhausted, and at the same time, the utilization of oil resources is also challenged under the background of carbon neutrality.

A grand celebration

In this context, Daqing is facing the challenge of industrial transformation and upgrading. Of course, the transformation and upgrading of traditional industrial zones should be based on their own actual conditions and should not be blindly developed. Daqing took advantage of its own industrial development, turned waste into treasure, built underground gas storage, and embarked on its own road of transformation and development. Natural gas is a clean and environment-friendly high-quality energy source, which contains almost no harmful substances such as sulfur and dust. When burned, it produces less carbon dioxide than other fossil fuels, thus reducing the greenhouse effect.

However, China's natural gas reserves are not abundant and unevenly distributed among regions, so China has built a West-to-East Gas Transmission Project. In addition, China also imports a lot of natural gas from abroad, mainly by sea and pipeline transportation. Russia is a big exporter of natural gas and an important importer of natural gas in China. To this end, the two countries built the East China-Russia natural gas pipeline.

Sino-Russian East Line Natural Gas Pipeline

The natural gas pipeline starts from East Siberia, enters Heihe City, Heilongjiang Province, China from Blagoveshchensk, and then goes south year after year, and is exported to Bohai Bay and Yangtze River Delta. Since 2065438+February 2, 2009, the East China-Russia Natural Gas Line has been put into production, and nearly13.6 billion cubic meters of Russian natural gas has been delivered to China. In order to realize the stable supply of natural gas, it is necessary to build some natural gas storage tanks. Daqing builds natural gas storage tanks by using the important nodes of natural gas pipelines on the eastern route between China and Russia.

Coincidentally, during the long-term oil and gas development in Daqing, many super-large sandstone reservoirs were left. These reservoirs were originally closed spaces with abundant underground oil and gas resources, and together with supporting related facilities, they just became ideal warehouses for storing natural gas. In addition, Daqing, as the most important petrochemical industrial base in China, has cultivated and trained a large number of oil and gas technicians for a long time, laying a talent foundation for large-scale natural gas storage and utilization. The construction of Daqing natural gas storage will improve the energy security of China to some extent.
