Is Australian spodumene casserole harmful to human body?

Australian spodumene casserole has no effect on health.

It is generally safe. Spodumene itself is not toxic, so it is used as a pot, mainly depending on whether other substances are added during the production process and whether toxic metal substances seep out. Spodumene is the main raw material for extracting lithium.

Lithium is used in atomic energy industry, aircraft, missiles and aerospace industry, and metallurgical industry is used to make light alloys, wear-resistant alloys and rare metal reductants. Spodumene can be used as raw material for producing glass and ceramics. Chemical products such as lithium carbonate can be prepared by reacting spodumene with carbonate solution after calcination.

Properties of lithium

The production mode of lithium has also changed. In 1980s, lithium extracted from ores was the main source of lithium carbonate. In the mid-1990s, some companies began to extract lithium from brine, which was lower than the cost of open-pit or underground mining, leading to the closure of most lithium mines or the switch to other minerals. Now, extracting lithium from salt lake has become the main source of lithium carbonate.

About 70% of the global supply of lithium carbonate and its derivatives comes from extracting lithium from salt lake brine, and about 30% comes from extracting lithium from ore. Chile and Australia have become the largest producers of lithium, followed by China and Argentina. According to the data released by the US Bureau of Address Investigation in 200015, the global lithium production in 200014 was about 36,000 tons, while the lithium production in Chile (1.29 million tons) and Australia (1.30,000 tons) accounted for 72% of the global production.
