Brief introduction of ancient dwellings in Hubei

The artistic style of Hubei ancient dwellings is unique, which can be divided into Tujia Diaojiaolou in southeastern Hubei, northwestern Hubei and western Hubei. The beam frame is of hard mountain collar type, with exquisite wood carvings and many houses with archways, which makes Hubei ancient dwellings unique among China residential buildings. Due to lack of understanding, a large number of dwellings are "hidden in boudoir and unknown", which are seriously damaged due to natural and human reasons. In order to rescue a number of endangered ancient dwellings of Ming and Qing Dynasties, with the approval of National Cultural Heritage Administration, Hubei Province built the Museum of Ancient Dwellings of Ming and Qing Dynasties in Mulan Lake, huangpi district, Wuhan, to protect ancient dwellings.
