How to treat dysmenorrhea?

Many unmarried young women will have discomfort such as abdominal pain, weak waist and knees, fatigue and weakness before each menstrual period, which is distressing dysmenorrhea.

These symptoms appear during menstruation, mainly because the cervix of adolescent women is slender or underdeveloped, and menstrual blood flows through it to stimulate uterine muscle contraction.

Generally speaking, dysmenorrhea is a physiological phenomenon. If there are no other diseases and the pain is mild and tolerable, most of them do not need treatment. You should relax and do some activities, such as walking and listening to music, to relieve the pain. After marriage, with the maturity of the uterus and the gradual balance of hormone levels in the body, dysmenorrhea will be relieved or even disappeared.

If the pain is obvious and the body's tolerance is weak, you can try the following methods for treatment:

(1) Eat bananas. Bananas are rich in vitamin B6 and have high absorption rate. After eating, they supplemented enough vitamin B6 to maintain normal hormone levels, thus helping to prevent or relieve pain.

(2) supplement magnesium. Magnesium can maintain the balance of calcium and potassium in blood, which is very beneficial to women with irregular menstruation. Magnesium-rich foods include laver, green leafy vegetables, beans, etc. Adolescent girls should eat more.

(3) local hot compress. In premenstrual period, if the abdominal pain is unbearable, the whole body chills, and the waist and abdomen are uncomfortable, you can use a hot towel to hot compress the lower abdomen and the upper part of the waist and buttocks to speed up blood circulation and relieve pain. If you feel sick, you can also drink some warm drinks, such as milk and honey to heat ginger juice, or 1 ~ 2 pieces of safflower plus 1 cup of decoction.

(4) simple gymnastics. Face the wall, put your arms straight against the wall, stand on tiptoe and lean back; Then do flexion and extension exercises with your hands to relax your back and waist bones, which can relieve pain and discomfort.

If one of the following circumstances occurs, you should go to the hospital in time without delay.

(1) More than 25 years old (or married, especially those who have given birth), with severe dysmenorrhea. Without treatment, it is unbearable.

(2) The pain has gradually eased, but it has recently intensified, which may lead to the risk of uterine flexion or other diseases.

(3) The possibility of endometritis should be considered if the menstrual temperature rises or even has a high fever.

(4) The menstrual period is too long or too short (3-7 days), or there is too much bleeding (generally 6-7 tampons are needed every day).

(5) If there is a hepatoid mass in menstrual blood, which is larger than the little finger, serious diseases such as hysteromyoma should be suspected.

(6) The closer to the menstrual period, the more obvious the pain in the lower abdomen, and the pain in the menstrual period 1 day disappears again, which is the performance of premenstrual tension.

(7) Normal menstrual blood is dark red, containing old blood, mucus and exfoliated endometrium. If menstrual blood is brown, or there is pus and the smell changes, it should be diagnosed and treated as soon as possible.
