Pingchengjing, the capital of Nara era, was most obviously influenced by Chang 'an and Luoyang in the Tang Dynasty. Located in the north of Nara Basin, it is 4.2 kilometers long from east to west and 4.8 kilometers long from north to south, covering an area of 20.2 square kilometers, which is about a quarter of that of Chang 'an in Tang Dynasty. It has a history of 75 years since its capital was established in 7 10. Japan absorbed the planning of Chang 'an and Luoyang in the Tang Dynasty and built it according to its own actual situation. The layout of Pingcheng landscape adopts Chang 'an mode. Gongcheng is located at the northern end of the central axis of the city, at Zhuque Road, the main street in the south of Miyagi, with a width of 72 meters and Luocheng Gate in the south. There are three north-south small streets and eight east-west small streets symmetrically distributed on both sides of Zhuque Road. Each small street is divided into 36 Little Square, and the whole city has 72 squares. Except Miyagi is at the north end, all the others are arranged in Fangshi. East of the avenue is called sakyo, and west of the avenue is called Youjing. After completion, twelve squares, three squares and a half will be built eastward in the northern half of the east side, which is called the external meridian. These squares divided by small streets are all squares with a side width of 530 meters, and there is a small street with a width of about 24 meters between the squares. Each carriage is divided into sixteen small blocks by alleys with three horizontal and three vertical widths of about 4 meters, and each small block is called "Ping". Generally, the house only occupies one sixteenth of the ping, and the noble mansion occupies four ping at most. Similar to Chang 'an in the Tang Dynasty, Pingchengjing has an East City and a West City in the south of Beijing, but the area is very small, each accounting for only 4 square meters. There are also a large number of temples in the city, such as Yangle Temple, Yuanxing Temple and Daianji, all with an area of 12 ~ 15 ping. There is a small wall in the middle of Pingcheng well, just to the south, and a gate named Luocheng Gate is built on Suzaku Road in the middle of the north. The rest of the east, west and north sides have no walls, only the streets with extra nets are the boundaries. Looking at the planning of Pingcheng Well, it is obvious that the main street is built on the central axis, and the northern end of the main street is adjacent to the Beijian Miyagi. The streets of the whole city are divided into small squares, and the alleys in each small square are divided into sixteen small blocks. It obviously absorbed the characteristics of Chang 'an in Tang Dynasty, and the small square was square rather than horizontal rectangle, similar to Luoyang in Sui and Tang Dynasties. So it can be said that it is the best in Tang Chang 'an and Luoyang. However, in order to adapt to the specific situation, Ping Chengjing did not imitate Tang Changan and Luoyang. For example, because there are mountains on the left and right, the outline is made into a vertical rectangle, unlike the horizontal rectangle of Chang 'an in Tang Dynasty, and there is no wall outside. In 794 AD, Jianping and Anjing were built in Japan, and the outline was similar to that of Pingcheng, and the streets, squares and Miyagi in the north of the city were also similar to that of Pingcheng. According to the Japanese ancient document "Shi Yanxi Style", some urban management regulations of Ping 'an Beijing were also formulated with reference to Tang Changan. We can see the influence of Sui and Tang capitals on Japanese capital planning.
