Planting differences between modern Chinese rose and traditional Chinese rose

The biggest difference between traditional Chinese rose and modern Chinese rose is that traditional Chinese rose is cultivated in the open air, while the latter is cultivated in facilities. The economic benefits brought by this are very obvious: the traditional model rose is affected by environmental factors, with limited flowering times every year (or only in spring and autumn), high temperature in summer, small and pale flowers, low quality and great influence on picking and farming weather.

The following differences:

There are many varieties of 1. Because traditional Chinese roses only rely on natural hybridization, there are few new varieties. The so-called new variety is just to move a variety from one place to another. However, the modern Chinese rose is different. With the update of hybrid breeding methods, the number of Chinese rose varieties has reached an infinite level in theory. Therefore, growers will face more varieties with different characteristics.

2. The application methods are diverse and complicated. In the past, we paid attention to color and taste, but now we pay attention to various ways of use, such as ground cover, climbing, flowering, miniature, potted plants, bonsai, fresh cut flowers and so on.

The commercialization and intensification of production used to be for hobbies, but now it needs commercialization and efficiency, and flower production needs to be concentrated in an artificially controlled environment.

From one-sided dependence on natural conditions to artificial control and creation of conditions, we used to rely on the sky for food, but now we rely on scientific management technology.

Modern roses are evergreen or deciduous shrubs of Rosaceae, with about 15000 species. The main groups are perfume rose, Changchun rose, flowering rose, vine rose and miniature rose. Roses like sunny, well-ventilated and well-drained environment, which can avoid cold wind and dry wind. Roses like fertilizers and are not strict with the environment. The optimum temperature for its growth and development is 20~25℃ in the daytime and 12~ 15℃ at night. When the temperature exceeds 30℃, it will enter the semi-dormant state, and when the temperature is lower than 5℃ in winter, it will enter the dormant state. The adaptability of Chinese rose to temperature varies greatly among varieties, and some ancient Chinese rose can tolerate the low temperature of -20℃. Abundant roses and vine roses can generally withstand the low temperature of-15℃; Perfume rose has the worst cold tolerance, but it can survive the winter safely in the short-term low temperature environment of-12℃. Rose is drought-resistant and waterlogged-resistant, but in the growing period, especially in spring, soil water shortage will also cause small flowers, light color and short life. Roses are intolerant of shade. Under the condition of shading, the branches are slender, the leaves are weak, the color is pale and there are few flowers. Chinese rose is also called tree-shaped rose. Traditionally, two-year-old Bai Yutang and pink rose are used as rootstocks to graft one or several varieties of rose buds to form a relatively round crown with a height of about 1.5 meters. The variety and quantity of root grafting buds can be divided into monochromatic rose trees, bicolor rose trees and multicolor rose trees. However, the traditional rose tree cultivation needs two grafting, and it takes three years from molding to leaving the garden.
