The Artistic Features of Shandong Drum
The singing forms of Shandong drum are mostly single-person standing singing and duet singing. The main accompaniment instruments are short-legged drum, big three-stringed instrument and crescent board (also called pear flower piece). When singing, the actor holds the drum in his right hand, hits it with a steel plate in his left hand, and the musician accompanies it with three strings. Singing is a plate cavity, which is generally divided into flexible board (also known as head board), second board (flowing board), third board and Allegro. Its bibliography is mainly medium and long, sometimes singing, and only singing in short paragraphs. The vocals and bibliographies of the three tribes have their own characteristics and styles. Old Beikou School's singing is rough and bold, and its opening begins with the headboard or the second board similar to the headboard, with slow speed, long ending, hard articulation, true articulation, heavy falling tone, dense words, good intonation and natural and smooth melody. Therefore, the big fall of the old cow has a common name; Xiaobeikou School's vocals draw lessons from some techniques of Xihe Drum, which is more skillful, euphemistic and delicate than the old Beikou School. It is good at speaking and acting documents and adding narration to the vocals. The vocals of Nankou School are melodious, with gorgeous and delicate tunes, complicated words and slow rhythm. In addition to banqiang singing, Nankou School also has some Qupai singing methods, called brand singing, which can be divided into fast and slow, and are only used in special aria such as Little Black Donkey, Little Black Cow and Sister Wang Sifu.
