What are the three representations of scale?

1) number, indicating the scale size by the proportion or fraction of the number. For example, 1 cm on the map represents the field distance of 500 kilometers, which can be written as:1:50,000,000, or it can be written as: one in 50 million.

(2) Line segment type: Draw a line segment on the map and indicate the actual distance represented by 1 cm on the map.

(3) Write directly on the map how many kilometers of field distance 1cm represents, as shown in the figure, 1cm is equivalent to the ground distance 10km.

These three representations are interchangeable.
