He stared at it for a long time, a strong sense of national pride and creative desire intertwined, he could not help but think of it. After returning to China, I created this work. With the poet's feelings, the author praised the great rivers and mountains inside and outside the Great Wall, and expressed broad national pride and deep patriotic feelings.

Capriccio of the Great Wall is divided into four movements:

The first movement "Guanshanxing"

Against the background of distant bells and hazy triplets, the band played the Great Wall theme, which was broad and magnificent and ran through the whole song. With the deep and solemn narrative tone of solo erhu, the author tells the great achievements that people have witnessed for more than two thousand years and the bitterness and ravages suffered by the Chinese nation.

The second movement "bonfire exercise"

The theme is urgent, intense and changeable, just like war and smoke. The music of the band is tragic and combative. Combined with the timbre and melody of erhu, it shows the scene of Chinese sons and daughters fighting bloody battles to defend the Great Wall in the war years of bonfire and smoke.

The third movement "Sacrifice the soul"

Under the music background of the band imitating the echo of the ancient clock and the wailing of the mountains and rivers, the theme of erhu gradually developed from solemn and implicit, tearful timbre to heroic, vigorous and powerful, remembering countless national heroes for thousands of years and expressing their praise and comfort.

The fourth movement "Looking into the distance"

Under the background of the band's dream and steady progress, the erhu variation reproduces the theme of the first movement. The change echoed at the end reproduces the radical and broad theme of the Great Wall and once again expresses the firm belief in the bright future of the motherland.
