Chen Yuan's Examples of Historical Taboos, Volume 8 Taboos of Dynasties, shows that the earliest taboo case was changed from "the first month" to "the end of the month" because Qin Shihuang was famous for his politics. It originated in the Western Zhou Dynasty. "Zuo Zhuan Huan Gong Six Years": "Zhou people are afraid of God and fame, and they will eventually be afraid of it." "Book of Rites Under the Tan Bow": "When you die, you are afraid to cry, and the ghost begins." Zhou people can call the living by their first names, but they can't call them by their first names after death. This may be the initial taboo. During the Spring and Autumn Period, the custom of only being afraid of the dead gradually developed into being afraid of the living. But those who refute difficulties give examples: his name is Hu and his name is Hu Qi; Seal for "full", Glory imperial clan also seal "king" shows that the Western Zhou Dynasty is not taboo. In this regard, scholars who insist that taboos originated in the Western Zhou Dynasty say that it is because taboos are in the early stage and cannot be completed.
