Guangshan ancient painting is the hometown of ancient painting.

Manjusri Township is the first township in Xinyang City named as "Hometown of Folk Art in Henan Province". This naming is based on inheriting the unique local characteristics of Guangshan ancient paintings and operas. Guangshan ancient painting drama is a kind of Han drama with local flavor, which concentrates the essence of Han folk tunes, folk songs, flower parties and dances in the border areas of Henan, Hubei and Anhui. In 2004, ancient paintings and operas were included in the rescue project of folk cultural heritage in Henan Province, and in 2006, they were included in the representative works of provincial intangible cultural heritage. In order to support the inheritance and innovation of this drama, relevant departments in Guangshan County and Manjusri Township have set up a broad platform to encourage old artists to recruit apprentices. Provide 8,000 yuan a year to subsidize the troupe to buy clothes and props, and organize the troupe to perform at designated places on holidays. Wealthy cultural households began to increase their investment in ancient painting troupes, and frequent joint performances appeared among various troupes. Ancient painting drama has become the leader of local Han folk art, which has promoted the vigorous development of local operas such as lantern drama, shadow play, lion dance, dragon dance, dry boat, bamboo horse, flower picking and drum writing. By the end of 2009, there were 8 traditional Chinese opera classes, 4 shadow play classes, 2 Gwangju drum classes 12, 36 folk flower show teams, 2 farmers' professional actors10, and 600 amateurs, with more than 800 performances 1800 per year and an audience of 560,000.
