In the Yuan Dynasty, due to the dense pharmacies here, the crossroads and today's Nanguangji Street were collectively called Shi Yao Street. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, because of the concentration of pharmacies here, famous pharmacies included Zaoloutang, Fuyuancheng, Shuren Hall and Wanniantang. Later, people called the five flavors of Chinese medicine sweet, pungent, sour, bitter and salty.

Wuxu Cross is a famous old street in Xi 'an. It has long been a medicinal material market in Xi 'an, and its name also comes from the "five flavors" theory of traditional Chinese medicine. After the end of the Qing Dynasty, the five flavors of stone characters became the gathering place of guilds in various provinces. Today's Wuwei Cross is an east-west intersection, starting from the south exit of Nanguangji Street in the east and reaching Sifu Street in the west.

6. Tan Shi Street
