The story of the kitchen god

Qin Bahan

Today is the 23rd day of the twelfth lunar month, which is a traditional festival "off-year", also called Xie Zao, Zao Jie and Zao Wang Jie.

Kitchen God, also known as Kitchen God, Kitchen God, Kitchen God in charge of cooking and Kitchen God in charge of cooking, is commonly known as "Kitchen God" among the people.

In the past, almost every kitchen was dedicated to the kitchen god, who was the god of the family, the "head of the family" and the patron saint of the family.

Sacrificing a kitchen stove, also known as "Ci Zao", is to send the kitchen god to heaven, report everything on earth to the Jade Emperor, especially the good and bad things done by his family, and let heaven reward and punish him.

Kitchen God is a god who reports human affairs to the Jade Emperor, and many stories have been circulated. Today, I share several scenes to welcome the "off-year".

First, the poor scholar opens the kitchen god

A poor scholar came last in scientific research, and his family was ruined, so he had to sell words in the street for a living, half hungry and half full. On the 23rd of the twelfth lunar month, you can't even afford something to sacrifice to the stove.

He felt deeply that the world was unfair, and in a rage, he wrote a poem on the idol of Kitchen God:

A dark horse and a whip, I caught the kitchen god up with the sky early,

If the Jade Emperor asks about human affairs, why is the article worthless?

The kitchen god caught up with the sky hungry, and the jade emperor was deeply moved by the poor scholar's poems. He severely punished the kitchen gods who put honey on their mouths to report good news but not bad news, and sent a message to the poor scholar:

Kitchen God cheated me by taking bribes, and only the scholar dared to say it.

The jade emperor asked about human affairs, and the article should be valuable from now on.

Later, poor scholars gained wealth. People praised him for not flattering the kitchen king and drove him out of the kitchen king.

This legend is aimed at the disadvantages of the times, by driving away the kitchen god and punishing him, and opposing the unhealthy world trend of blindly whitewashing peace and reporting good news instead of worrying.

Second, the accusation is normal, and its accusation is self-inflicted.

In the Ming Dynasty, there was a minister of war named Zack Zhang.

Once when picking up the kitchen god, his dog squatted on the kitchen stove, and he didn't catch it, leaving the dog to join in the fun and continue to worship the kitchen god.

The dog suddenly fell off the stove and died at once. The whole family said it was an ominous sign, but Zack Zhang calmly said to his family, "Don't blame it."

Later, his family was safe.

This legend tells us that faith is different from superstition. Faith endows life with a sense of order and ceremony, which makes people walk upright and sit upright. Superstition will ruin our lives and leave us at a loss. It never rains but it pours, to err is human!

Third, Zhang Lang divorced his wife.

According to folklore, the kitchen god was originally named Zhang and was called "". He married a daughter-in-law named Guo Dingxiang.

This Guo Lilac is very virtuous. She gets up early and goes to bed late and works hard at home. Soon, her family business will be thriving, with high-rise buildings, tiled houses and herds of mules and horses.

Zhang Lang became rich because he had a hardworking and capable wife, but he didn't want to think about how he got it. Instead, he has the idea of liking the new and hating the old, and does nothing. He wants to take Guo Lilac away and find a beautiful young wife.

He abused Guo Dingxiang all day, and finally divorced her, kicked her out of the house and married Li Haitang, the daughter of a rich man. This Li Haitang is lazy. He goes to parties with Zhang Lang all day and doesn't do housework.

After a few years, his family business was ruined, and finally he couldn't eat any more, and Li Haitang stopped talking to him.

As the saying goes: divorced ex-wife has no food.

Zhang Lang had to beg. One day, he came to a door and a servant gave him food. After eating, he saw that it was getting late and begged to stay in this pot house for one night. The servant asked the hostess and agreed.

Zhang Lang said, "That's very kind of you. Please let me know that I want to see her. " When I met the hostess, it turned out to be Guo Lilac that he had taken out of the house.

Guo Dingxiang asked Zhang Lang, "How did you get here?" Zhang Lang was so ashamed that he plunged into the pot and burned to death.

The wandering immortals reported this to the Jade Emperor. The Jade Emperor thinks Zhang Lang is not good, but he knows shame, which means that he is not bad in the end. Since he died under the kitchen stove, let him be the kitchen god.

This legend is so widespread and influential that there is a divorced wife of Zhang Lang in the local drama, which is based on this legend.

Feeling: One should not forget one's roots, be ungrateful, and the wife of dross should not stay in court. This is an old saying for thousands of years.
