How to combine lion dance with theater elements
The traditional Guangdong lion dance is mainly divided into two styles: the Foshan lion and the Heshan lion. The traditional lion draws on the image of the traditional Chinese theater face, using anthropomorphism and exaggeration to express the heroic image and spirit of each style. The headdress of a Cantonese Opera martial arts character usually contains multiple pom-poms, which are usually composed of two colors, one of which is the dominant color and the other is decorated with dots, such as red dots on a white background. The headdress of the Foshan lion is very obviously borrowed from the headdress of the martial arts corner of Cantonese opera, and the traditional lion's head is decorated with a large number of pompoms of varying sizes. The earliest lion heads that borrowed from theater faces were the Three Saints of Liu Guan Zhang. In addition to the three saints, there are also "Huang Zhong Lion", "Zhao Yun Lion", "Ma Chao Lion" and other heroes of the lion head.
