What is the blue peony brocade like?

Blue Peony Brocade (collected by the Palace Museum) is a part of the Pipa Suite. Its main pattern is that 8 peony flowers on the front are surrounded by 8 peony flowers on the side. The outer layer is decorated with a circle of large peony flowers, and small broken branches are arranged between the flowers. It constitutes an extremely rich and full pattern of big flowers. On the bright sky-blue background, flowers such as dark green, light green, red, pink purple and light yellow are interlaced and treated by smudge, which makes the works colorful, prominent in theme, distinct in layers and full of vitality.
