Consciousness and Artificial Intelligence

First, human consciousness is the unity of knowledge, emotion and will, while artificial intelligence is only a simulation and expansion of human rational intelligence, does not have emotions, beliefs, will and other forms of human consciousness. Human intelligence contains a rich heart connotation and practical wisdom, human emotions, beliefs, will, creative thinking, etc., at least for a long time can not be reduced to data information and its basic algorithms. The emotional simulation of artificial intelligence does not replace people's true feelings in social interactions. Artificial intelligence can assist people in decision-making, but it can't replace people's overall decision-making based on the unity of knowledge and emotion.

Second, sociality is an intrinsic attribute of human consciousness, and AI can't really have the social attributes of human beings. Human consciousness is a product of society, arising from the needs of human production, life and social interaction, and developing with its development. Artificial intelligence to a certain extent can assume certain social functions, such as certain social management and social interaction functions, and even robots can become human life partners. However, the robot is fundamentally a machine rather than a human being, it is impossible to really have self-reliance, autonomy, self-consciousness of social activities, it is difficult to become independent with the behavioral consequences of consciousness, self-discipline and social responsibility of the social subject.

Third, the natural language of human beings is the material shell of thinking and the real form of consciousness, and it is difficult for AI to have the ability to understand the real meaning of natural language. Artificial intelligence is based on machine language, which is a materialization and simulation of thinking, and its way of thinking is purely logical and rational, while human thinking is linked to natural language, and its thinking methods are often diverse and jumping. Moreover, natural language is always related to a certain context, and it is difficult to be thoroughly formalized and fully mastered by computers. The nature of machine language is monotonous processing of numbers or regular manipulation of symbols, which lacks the meaning direction of natural language, and also does not have the practical function of natural language to do things with words.

Currently, artificial intelligence is still in development, and it can be expected that it will get more development in the future. We should observe, think and grasp the future development of AI and its impact on society with an open and objective attitude. While making full use of the convenience brought by AI, we should pay attention to strengthening the risk research and prevention of improper application of AI, and guide and plan the development of AI in a direction more favorable to the survival and development of human beings.
