1. September 3, the anniversary of the victory in the war. The Japanese invasion forces created the July 7 Lugou Bridge Incident near the Lugou Bridge in the southwest suburbs of Beiping. The Lugou Bridge Incident was the beginning of Japan's total war of aggression against China and the starting point of China's nationwide war of resistance.

In 1945, Japan sent a note to China, the Soviet Union, the U.S. and the U.K., expressing its acceptance of the Potsdam Proclamation, and on Aug. 15, Emperor Hirohito formally declared Japan's unconditional surrender in the form of a radio broadcast called the "Edict of the Final War".
