What are the traditional costumes in China?

China's traditional clothing can be roughly divided into three types:

First, completely Han costumes

The biggest feature of Han costumes is the wide robe and large sleeves. From the pre-Qin dynasty, to the Han and Tang dynasties, and then to the Song and Ming dynasties, it is generally in the same strain. As we all know, western civilization is spread, while China's culture is inherited. The same is true of clothing culture. As long as it is the land of China under the rule of Han nationality, wide robes and big sleeves are the mainstream.

Second, the absorption of clothing by ethnic minority clothing culture

In the development of China's costume culture, there have been several cases of actively absorbing minority costume culture.

King Wuling of Zhao's "The Riding and Shooting of Khufu" is a process in which Han people actively learn the costume culture of ethnic minorities for the sake of survival and development. Due to the lineage of the ruling class in the early Tang Dynasty, the Tang Dynasty was extremely gentle with minority costumes, which not only prevailed with narrow sleeves, but also wore a large number of Hu clothes. This is completely different from the period of King Wuling of Zhao, but the self-confidence and calmness of the Tang Dynasty, so that it is open to any culture. Third, wear national costumes directly.

The ruling class of the Qing Dynasty believed that as long as the people kept their hair and wore clothes of the Ming Dynasty, they would not submit. Come on, get dressed. Robes and jackets have become mainstream.

The development history of China's traditional clothing is a history of China's ethnic integration.
