Misunderstanding of traditional morality

To treat traditional morality, we should oppose two wrong ideas. One is the retro theory, which holds that the ultimate goal of moral construction is to restore China's "inherent culture" and form a moral system with China's traditional culture as the main body. The other is China's traditional morality, which, as a whole, has lost its value and significance today and must be totally negated. Both of these views are wrong, cutting off the relationship between moral history and development, which is not conducive to social development and moral progress. We should establish a high degree of cultural consciousness and self-confidence, dig deep into the ideological concept, humanistic spirit and moral norms contained in Chinese excellent traditional culture, inherit and innovate according to the requirements of the times, and let Chinese culture show lasting charm and elegant demeanor of the times.
