What programs are available in the new China Science and Technology Museum?

The following exhibitions and exhibition halls are permanent in the new China Science and Technology Museum:

The Light of China. This exhibition focuses on the glorious achievements of ancient China in the fields of natural science and engineering technology. It mainly includes five exhibition areas: scientific exploration in ancient China, technological innovation in ancient China, communication between Chinese science and technology and world civilization, and experience space.

Science Land. The theme exhibition hall is specially set up for children aged 3-10. Its exhibition hall is mainly based on the needs of children's growth, displaying scientific and technological content suitable for children's physical and mental development, adopting diversified exhibition and teaching methods mainly based on gamification and inquiry-based interactive participation, encouraging children to experience, accumulate experience in exhibitions and activities, and stimulating their curiosity and interest in science.

Exploration and Discovery. This exhibition hall mainly focuses on a number of important directions and contents of human scientific exploration, reflecting the cosmic exploration of the universe and microscopic exploration of matter, reflecting the exploration of natural phenomena around the movement, sound, light and electricity, and reflecting the exploration of life itself.

Technology and life. This theme gallery takes the clothing, food, housing and transportation of people's lives as the through-line of the exhibition, and selects important aspects of science and technology and human social life to spread the concept of science and technology being people-oriented.

Challenge and Future. Its thematic exhibition hall is located on the 4th floor of the new hall, with an area of 5,100 square meters. The exhibition hall mainly displays the major problems and challenges faced by mankind, so as to make the audience realize that innovation is a major choice for mankind to cope with the challenges of the future, and to guide the audience to pay attention to the development of the future.

Preferential Methods for Visiting the New China Science and Technology Museum:

Individuals: Minors accompanied by an adult with a valid ID are entitled to free admission (adults must purchase a regular ticket and are limited to one minor).

Groups: School-organized groups of 30 or more primary and secondary school students can enjoy free admission in accordance with the Agreement on Free Admission for Student Groups of the China Science and Technology Museum.

Children under 1.2 meters accompanied by an adult (limited to one), elderly people over 65 years old, active military personnel, people with disabilities, family members of martyrs, academicians of the two academies, and scientific and technological workers with senior titles or above. Visitors with valid ID will enjoy free admission throughout the year (main exhibition hall only).

May 1, provincial and ministerial-level model workers with a valid ID; July 1, provincial and ministerial-level outstanding party members and outstanding party workers with a valid ID; September 10, teachers with a teacher's license; Chrysanthemum Day (September 9), the elderly over 60 years old.
