What is the mode scale in D melody minor?

The scales of natural minor are D, E, F, G, A, B, C and D.

From the beginning to the end of the tonic, from low to high (called rising tone), or from high to low (called falling tone), the tones are arranged in the mode step by step, which is called scale.

Scale is a form of mode, and its full name is mode scale. A scale must be a mode, and a mode is not necessarily a scale.

To put it bluntly: mode is the melody we hear when listening to songs. A scale is also a melody, it is just a kind of melody.

Natural heptatonic scale:

It is the most widely used seven-tone scale, and its interval organization is that there are five whole tones within each octave, which are divided into two strings and three strings, and the two strings are separated by semitones.

Pentatonal scale:

It is called "pentatonic scale without semitone" or "pentatonic scale with whole tone" in detail.

Widely popular in Asia, Africa, some islands in the central Pacific, Hungary and Scotland, and native American tribes before Europeans arrived in America. Often referred to as the "China scale".

Its five orders have special names in the traditional culture of China, namely: public, business, communication, righteousness and Yu. Its interval organization is that each octave has three whole tones, which are divided into two strings (the upper corner of the palace) and a Dan Xian (the Zheng language), and the two segments are separated by a □ tone, as shown in the following example 2: Each tone in a scale can be used as a tonic to establish a mode, which can form five different pentatonic modes.

On the basis of the pentatonic scale, different additional sounds (partials) can be inserted in each interval of the □ tone to form a pentatonic scale. The additional sounds can be inserted in three different ways to form three different scales (see Gong Diao). The pitch of additional sounds can often be changed, and the changed pitch sometimes divides the interval of □ into two intervals, each of which is about three quarters of a tone.

Classical music related:

Because of the concept of acoustic guide, the guide should be a semitone far away from the tonic, so apart from key signature, raising the seventh note of the natural minor scale by a semitone becomes a harmonic minor scale.

Except for key signature, the minor scale of harmony raises the seventh note by one and a half tones, so the difference between the sixth and seventh notes will increase by two degrees, giving people a very disharmonious feeling.
