Xuhui District belongs to the central city of Shanghai (but it also includes a few marginal areas).

Xuhui District is located in the southwest of Shanghai, bordering Changle Road, Huashan Road, Xingguo Road, Huaihai West Road and Kaixuan Road in the north, and bordering Jing 'an District and Changning District. Ruijin South Road and Shaanxi South Road face Huangpu District in the east; Close to Huangpu River, across the river from Pudong New Area and connected with Xupu Bridge. The southwest is bounded by Hongmei Road, Zhu Mei Road, Laohumin Road, Guangang Village of Huajing Town and Minhang District.

Xujiahui is the sub-center of southwest Shanghai. Xuhui is one of the central cities that basically completed the transformation of the old district earlier. There are famous buildings with profound cultural heritage such as Jiaotong University and Xujiahui Catholic Church in the area.
