How to make fishing bamboo poles

Bamboo rod is the fishing rod with the longest history. It is a traditional fishing rod. According to written records, bamboo poles have a history of at least 2,500 years in China. Bamboo poles can be divided into single section and multi-section. The main type of bamboo pole on the market is straight-in multi-section, which is cheap and has good strength. However, due to its heavy weight, large volume, insufficient straightness and poor elasticity, it is now abandoned by most anglers. Because bamboo poles are easy to make, people like to make them themselves. When making their own bamboo poles, women mostly choose purple bamboo, spotted bamboo, striped bamboo, water bamboo, small bamboo and so on. Bamboo should be fully mature; Second, it must be fully air-dried; Third, be light and thin; Fourth, be short and straight; Fifth, it should be flexible and have a certain load, preferably two or three years of bamboo. Mangosteen fruit is used at the tip of the pole. Those with moth-eaten cracks cannot be used. When you meet a bent bamboo pole, first put the bamboo pole on the stove for warm roasting, and slowly turn the thick knot to roast it straight. Don't cut the barbs on the node scars too deep, so as not to hurt the poles by peeling-the length of each node is 1.75- 1.80m, and then polish them with sandpaper. Don't remove the bamboo skin, especially the plug of two nodes, and polish it carefully. The casing is wound with thin iron wire or thin iron wire, at least 10 cm, and the inner section of the rod can be inserted separately. If you need to catch big fish, you can put a fishing wheel on the last rod of the fishing rod. When you are completely satisfied, paint varnish on the inside and outside of the pole and dry it. Draw every one or two years from now on. After such treatment, a pair of durable fishing rods that are not afraid of rain and insects are ready. After each fishing, clean it with a cloth, dry it, put it in a cloth bag, lay it flat or hang it to prevent deformation and moisture.

Manufacture of bamboo pole

(1) Bamboo, Phyllostachys pubescens, Phyllostachys pubescens, Phyllostachys pubescens and Phyllostachys pubescens are generally used as bamboo poles, and the latter three are better. Don't choose any bamboo, whether it's Hsinchu in those days or old bamboo over four or five years old. Choose bamboo that is neither old nor tender, with dense bamboo joints, no moth-eaten surface and no knife wound. It is best to choose mangosteen as the pole tip. This kind of bamboo grows on hills or slopes, and some grow in crevices, which is convenient to collect.

(2) Make the slub scar as smooth as possible with a file, and then polish it with sandpaper or broken glass. But don't scrape off the bamboo skin, especially the plugs of the two poles, and polish them carefully until they are inserted tightly. If you find that the pole is not straight, you can make a fire on the ground with dry leaves and branches, and slowly bake the bamboo pole on the fire. When the bamboo surface perspires, slowly straighten and bend with your hands, and pull while baking. You can't act in haste until you are satisfied. The casing is wound with thin wire or thin metal wire, at least 5 cm higher than the pole. If you want to be stronger, you can wrap a plastic belt around the winding. In the inner section of the pole, there is a claim. Getting through or not has advantages and disadvantages. Through, thin rods can be inserted separately, so that several rods can be turned into two rods. This is not only convenient to carry, but also can insert the thin rod into the thick rod for protection. Advocate that the inner section of the pole should not be opened, saying that the inner section is not strong. In our opinion, it is best not to get through the solid ones, but it is inconvenient to use. If it's a five-shot, it's tied together in small bundles, and there are other auxiliary fishing gear and the like, which is not convenient to carry. And the open fishing rod rarely breaks when fishing. Although the thinnest tip is easy to break, it is not because the inner section is opened.

Therefore, to weigh the advantages and disadvantages, it is best to open the inner section of the rod. The length of each bamboo pole should not exceed 1.80 meters ... in this way, it is very important to put it horizontally or vertically on cars and boats, and the total length of the pole can be adjusted according to time and local conditions. Short poles can be used in spring, and long poles are needed in autumn, summer and winter. Fishing in Xiaotangkou can use short poles, while fishing in Datangkou, lakes and reservoirs needs long poles.

In order to meet the needs of catching big fish, a reel can be installed on the last pole of the hand pole, and a part of the fishing line can be wound on the reel, so you can pay off the line at will when you meet big fish. A good fishing rod should be straight and seamless after being inserted or stretched. Before use, a certain number of heavy objects can be hung for testing. The arch force point of the pole should be at the front end of the whole pole 1/2 ~ 1/3, and it should be restored after removing the heavy objects.

How to maintain bamboo poles?

When making a fishing rod, tung oil (or varnish) can be coated on the inside and outside of the rod and dried. Draw once a year or two. This kind of fishing rod is not afraid of rain and insects, and it is durable. After the poles are used up, clean them with a cloth, dry them, put them in a cloth bag and lay them flat or hang them to prevent deformation.
