Who knows the definition and form of traditional advertising?

Advertising can be divided into broad sense and narrow sense. They have different characteristics, and the range of characteristics they define is also different.

The main feature of generalized advertisements is that the contents and objects of advertisements are relatively wide, including for-profit advertisements and non-profit advertisements. Economic advertising is for the purpose of selling goods and services and obtaining benefits, and belongs to profit-making advertising; Non-economic advertising is a non-profit advertising aimed at achieving a certain propaganda purpose. There are many examples of non-profit advertisements. For example, campaign advertisements in western countries belong to political propaganda advertisements, and CCTV's "widely advertised" programs belong to moral education advertisements. In ancient China, beacon towers were set up. When the country was invaded by foreign countries, the beacon towers were lit with wolf smoke to summon governors from all sides to support them, which was a military advertisement.

Narrow advertising refers to profitable advertising, or economic advertising or commercial advertising, such as newspaper, radio and television advertising programs, as well as posters, slides, window decoration and commodity display. In a narrow sense, advertising is defined as: "Advertising is an activity in which advertisers publicize their goods or services in a paid way through public media, deliver information to consumers in a planned way, influence people's attitudes towards the advertised goods or services, and then induce their behavior to benefit advertisers." This definition of profitable advertising illustrates the following problems:

(1) Advertising is a planned and purposeful activity;

(2) Advertisers are the main body of advertising activities, while consumers are the objects of advertising activities;

(3) Advertising activities are conducted through mass media, rather than face-to-face communication, such as sales promotion by salesmen;

(4) The content of advertising activities is the information of choosing goods or services in a planned way;

(5) The purpose of advertising activities is to promote the sale of goods or services, and make advertisers gain benefits from it.

What has the above characteristics is advertising.
