Architecture, broadly defined, is the study of buildings and their environments. Architecture is a discipline that straddles engineering and technology and the humanities and arts. The art of building and the technology of building, as well as the aesthetic and practical aspects of the art of architecture as a practical art, are distinctly different but closely related, and their weight varies greatly according to the specific situation and the building.
