What is the tradition of vanilla beauty?

Changsha Quyuan Temple Couplet:

"In the place of evocation, vanilla also gave birth to three families; At that time, Xiang Liu should have known Nine Songs. "

Writing background:

This is a masterpiece of couplets in memory of Qu Yuan, one of the greatest romantic poets in China. Qu Yuan is not only the leader of poetry, but also the earliest known famous poet and great politician in China. He created the style of "Chu Ci" (that is, the style of "Ci Fu") and the tradition of "vanilla beauty". Qu Yuan skillfully integrated Fu, Bi and Xing into one, and used a large number of "vanilla beauty" Bi Xing techniques to vividly show abstract morality, consciousness and complex realistic relations.

Appreciate:

The first part: Where to Evoke the Soul not only reflects the memory of Qu Yuan, but also implies Qu Yuan's masterpiece Evocation. Vanilla: stands for writing skills, which means Qu Yuan or someone with his character and talent. "Miyake Land" refers to the State of Chu. "Historical Records of Xiang Yu" says: "Although Chu has three households, Qin will die."

The second part: Nine Songs is the representative work of Qu Yuan, who borrowed it here. Replacing Qu Yuan with "Nine Songs" not only meets the needs of antithesis, but also enriches the meaning of the word "heart". Wang Yi's Songs of Chu said that Qu Yuan's Nine Songs was the "heart" of "wind admonition". Zhu's Notes on Songs of the South holds that the work of Nine Songs is "an expression of my loyalty to the monarch and patriotism" and a "heart" of loyalty to the monarch and patriotism. Such associations are all born out of the execution of Nine Songs. If the word "Qu Yuan" is used instead, the effect may not be so obvious.

The beauty of this pair of Quyuan Temple couplets in artistic expression lies in its integration of allusions, metonymy, puns, embedded words and other rhetorical devices. The first part of the book Evocation is a pun, which also refers to Qu Yuan's work Evocation. In addition to the names of Jiuge, the word "Habi" also uses puns and metonymies to hide Tian Wen's name.
